Mission 267
Our Goals
By God’s grace, we make it our aim to put Colossians 2:6-7 into practice: "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
We receive Christ and his salvation by believing the gospel. We walk in him by living in a way that is consistent with the gospel. And we abound in thanksgiving as we rejoice in the gospel.
That’s Mission 267, to believe, live and rejoice in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Practices
Parents have the primary responsibility to train and disciple their children through the teen years. Our youth ministry exists to support them in this critical role in forming Christian character into their youth. Parents are involved in every aspect of this ministry – interacting with their youth over biblical truth in small groups, serving and worshipping together, and deepening their relationships with each other and with the local church.
Our youth ministry is structured this way:
- Jr. & Sr. high FUSION one Saturday night per month, from 6-8:30 p.m. We meet for recreation, worship, and teaching followed by discussion groups consisting of fathers/sons and mothers/daughters.
- Serving, outreach, and social activities are scheduled approximately once a month throughout the year, usually on Saturdays.
The teen years are filled with unique opportunities for parents and the church to inspire and equip the next generation for its role in God’s plan. These years need not be marked by the rebellion and indifference characteristic of our culture. We are encouraged at the grace of God at work among our youth families, and pray for more.
