Sunday Preview, December 1, 2013

This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. What a glorious season we are entering as we celebrate the birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ! Sunday we’ll continue our annual Thanksgiving Weekend pulpit swap with our sister church Cross of Grace. Pastor Rick will be heading to Chaska and their Lead Pastor, Scott Crook, will be joining us to preach on our gospel identity from 1 Corinthians 4:1-21.

What better way to end the Thanksgiving weekend than by joining together as the church to give thanks for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? Please take some time this weekend and thank on of the many volunteers who serve on Sunday mornings to make our Sunday Celebration happen.

Sunday Preparation

In our worship, be it singing or giving or sitting under the preaching of the Word, the goal of the members of Sovereign Grace Church is to experience God as gain. And to gain as much as we can from the Sunday Celebration we need the Holy Spirit to prepare our hearts to receive God’s grace.

  • Pray for Scott Crook as he prepares to preach, Lord willingfrom Philippians 3:17-4:3
  • Pray for this Sunday’s worship leader, Steve Bice, as well as the worship team.
  • Pray for all those serving in Discovery Kingdom and on the welcome team as well.
  • Consider joining the Sunday morning pre-celebration prayer group at 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. in the hall adjacent to Discovery Kingdom.
