I’m New Here
Welcome!
Thank you so much for visiting our website. Whether you’re searching for a church home or trying to understand what this life is all about, we are glad you’re here. This website is designed to give you a brief introduction to the mission and ministries of Sovereign Grace Church. We pray that you will catch a glimpse of the joy of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ at work in our church. Please let us know if we can serve you in any way- it would be our pleasure.
- Rick Gamache, Senior Pastor
Coming this Sunday? Here are some frequently asked questions.
How do I get to your service?
You can find us at Oak Grove Middle School in Bloomington. Directions here.
Where do I park?
Parking is behind the school (if you are on 106th Street) on the north side.
When should I arrive?
While the service starts at 10 AM, we encourage you to arrive 10 minutes early to enable yourself time to check in any kids (see below for details) and find a seat.
Who can I ask for help?
Our desire is to offer help and answer questions right when you arrive! Still, if we miss you, someone will be at the Information Table who can answer any questions and guide you in the right direction. There are also signs throughout the building to direct you to restrooms, children’s check-in, and the auditorium where the service is held.
Where do my kids go?
For parents who are interested, we would love to serve you by caring for your children in our Children’s Ministry. We check in all children before the service starts at 10 AM. Children of nursery-age (infant-2 years) are cared for throughout the entire service. Children 3 years through 6th grade are dismissed* to classrooms during the sermon portion of the service (*note: from Memorial Day through Labor Day only children up to the age of 4 are dismissed). At the end of the service, parents can pick up their children at their rooms, using the security tags provided at check-in.
What happens in the service?
The service (we call it the Sunday Celebration) is basically divided into two halves. For the first half we worship in song and then have a brief welcome and announcements. The second half consists of worshipful preaching from the Bible. At the close of the service, there is time for personal ministry and extended greetings. Our staff and members would love to meet you, so feel free to linger afterwards and introduce yourself.
Guest Reception
After the service, we would love the opportunity to meet you personally at the Guest Reception. A pastor will be there to tell you more about the church and answer your questions.
Hospitality Meals
Joining a church is a big decision. Would you like to get to know some of our members before moving ahead? Once a month our church members volunteer to open their homes to any guests that are interested in learning more about church life. You can sign up for a hospitality meal at the Guest Reception or online here.
Experience
We want you to experience what God is doing in this local church. Please feel free to join us for any of the ministry offerings listed on the church calendar. It would be our joy to have you attend.
