When we become a Christian, our identity changes. But because we live on this sinful earth sometimes we forget who we are. We go through life just trying to survive the things that happen to us forgetting that we are more than our age, our situation, or our season in life. When we ask ourselves, “Who am I?” it’s easy to give the “Christianese” answer of “I’m a daughter of God”. But do we really understand what that means? What would life look like if we really understood and remembered our true identity? How would our lives change if we not only remembered and understood our identity but took it a step further and really lived it?

So what is our true identity? It boils down to this: We are IN HIM. We are in God-or have a relationship with God-by God’s power. We see all over the Bible the blessings that we receive because we are in Him. We are in Christ. All of the wonderful things that were accomplished by Christ’s death on the cross are given to us. We belong to him. We are safe in him. That is mind blowing and difficult to understand at times, let alone live.

In Ephesians 1:3-14 we see that when we become a Christian, we receive a new identity. Not only are we loved by God, but we are chosen by God. We are adopted by God. Our lives and circumstances are redeemed by God. Our past sins, our current sins and our future sins are all forgiven by God. We have a purpose for our lives in God. We have an inheritance for our future in God. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit by God.

So let’s ask the question again. What if we lived like our identity of being IN HIM and all the blessings that come with it?

Join us October 27-28th as we do just that. Join us as we not only learn about our identity of being IN HIM and the blessings that come along with it, but we also learn more about the amazing person God who would chose us.
