HOSPITALITY TEAM VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Hospitality Lead
The Hospitality Lead provides oversight and care to a team of individuals working together to provide a warm and welcoming environment for the guests and members of Sovereign Grace Church. Hospitality Leads are the eyes and ears of the Hospitality Team before, during, and after our Sunday Celebration. They spend their time making sure everything is running smoothly and assisting other team members when issues arise. Hospitality Leads oversee the preparation of the building grounds, hallways, and auditorium for our worship services and ensure that volunteers have everything they need to serve our guests and members.

  • Who the Position Reports To: Executive Pastor
  • Time Required: Hospitality Leads serve one Sunday a month from 9:00am to 12:30pm.
  • Term of Commitment: One Ministry Year (September – August)
  • Qualifications: Hospitality Lead volunteers should be joyful and caring with a desire to lead through example by serving the members of the Hospitality Team. The individual should possess leadership skills to encourage, motivate, and train the team towards joyful and exuberant completion of Hospitality Team tasks. They should have an eye for detail and the ability to see a situation and immediately be able to take action on how to handle it. Hospitality Leads should have a team approach to ministry and be able to step in to assist other Hospitality team members as needed.
  • Training Provided: There is initial training for new Hospitality Leads and ongoing equipping once a quarter.
  • Benefits for the Volunteer: As a Hospitality Lead, you will have an opportunity to meet many guests and members of Sovereign Grace Church. You will get to know other Hospitality team members quite well and develop relationships with a number of different people. Hospitality Leads use their leadership skills for God’s glory as he builds his church.

First Impressions
The First Impressions volunteer is an integral part of a newcomer’s worship experience. From the moment a first-time guest enters our doors, until they are comfortably seated in the auditorium, the job of the First Impressions volunteer is to give a warm welcome and general sense of “We’re glad you’re here!” to each and every new person who walks through the door. These team members look for and approach guests. They escort families to children’s ministry and adults into the auditorium. These team members answer any questions about the church and help our guests feel comfortable.

  • Who the Position Reports To: Hospitality Lead
  • Time Required: First Impressions volunteers serve one Sunday a month prior to the service from 9:30am to 10:10am, and after the service from 11:25am to 12:00pm.
  • Term of Commitment: One Ministry Year (September – August)
  • Qualifications: First Impressions volunteers should be joyful, friendly, approachable, and comfortable approaching and talking to new people. • Benefits for the Volunteer: As a First Impressions Volunteer, you will be the first face and contact a potential new member or guest will have.  You can help make a new person feel welcomed and loved and provide them with a tangible experience of the gospel in a way that highlights the community experience Sovereign Grace Church provides.

Greeters
Greeters are the second expression of warmth and welcome as our guests and members experience Sovereign Grace Church. Their kindness and willingness to assist others make greeters a valuable part of the Hospitality Team. Greeters serve in two primary ways. First, the greeters assist the guests and members as they arrive in the auditorium. This includes providing them with handouts, helping them to find seats as the auditorium becomes crowded, and responding to any situations that require special assistance. Second, the Greeters support the function of each service by taking attendance, counting the offering, and preparing/serving communion.

  • Time Required: Greeters serve one Sunday a month prior to the service from 9:30am to 10:10am, during the announcements portion of the service, and after the service from 11:25am to 12:00pm.
